What is a Giving Circle?

Giving Circles are relatively new vehicles for charitable giving. Groups generally vary in design and structure but all share a philanthropic purpose. Each member is expected to make an initial financial commitment upon joining. The group's combined donations are later gifted to a project or charity selected by the group. A Giving Circle gathering is not only an effective way to “do good”, it is also an ideal venue for social interaction and for learning about social issues and philanthropy.

You will find extensive information about starting your own giving circle at The Giving Forum.

Our Inspired Giving Circle

Our first Inspired Giving Circle was created in 2008 by a group of like-minded individuals who wanted to “make a positive difference in the world through our presence, prayers and philanthropy.” We met monthly for six months to share inspiration and to educate ourselves about children's charities. The Inspire Children Foundation held the pooled contributions of the members during that time. The money was then given to the Jenkintown Day Nursery, the nonprofit organization voted on by our group members. Not only did we enjoy our time together, we also funded special outings and programs that the children could enjoy too.
